Ship's Biscuits are not only made using sea foraged ingredients but the inspiration behind them is steeped in maritime history. Ship's Biscuits were the name given to the hard tack crackers traditionally made for sailors to take on long voyages before there was any other way to preserve food. Baked hard the crackers would last for months, on board a typical ship each member of the crew might expect a daily ration of one pound of biscuits and one gallon of beer. Most of the great voyages of discovery would have been fuelled by the biscuits. Our recipe is enhanced with real butter and wonderful laverbread and dulse seaweed. Every Ships Biscuit is cut by the hand of a lovely Welsh mermaid.
