Smoked Mackerel with Captain Cat's Ship's Biscuits

Great dish! I would just like to point out that the pebble mat you can see in the photograph was made by me and my lady, it is a good table mat..


  • 2 Smoked Mackerel fillets
  • 1 tsp Horseradish
  • 1 tsp English Mustard
  • 2 Spring onions
  • 1/2 Lemon (juice and zest)
  • 2 tbsp Creme fraiche
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 Box Captain Cat's Ship's Biscuits


  1. Remove the skin from the Mackerel fillets and check for bones
  2. Add all of the ingredients apart from the crackers into a bowl and mash up with a fork
  3. I prefer to mix the ingredients by hand as I like it chunky, alternative if you are more inclined to smooth, then place all the ingredients in a blender and whiz away
  4. Serve with crackers
