This recipe was given to me by a lovely old lady from Carmarthen; I have to admit that when she told me she always used Welshman’s Caviar in her morning porridge I was little bit apprehensive. But then thinking about it there was no reason why it shouldn’t work, I always use to add a little pinch of salt to my porridge so why not Welshman’s Caviar? Anyways I have tried and tested and it’s lovely!

  • 50g of porridge oats
  • 350 ml of milk
  • 1 tbsp of Welshman's Caviar
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • Handful of mixed berries

  1. Put the oats and Welshman's Caviar into a saucepan and pour in the milk
  2. Gently warm over a gently heat and stir often so it does not catch
  3. Cook for around 5 minutes and serve into bowls
  4. Top with berries and honey
