The sale of alcohol is strictly for persons over 18 years of age. A 10-year-old single malt from Islay. This wonderful Islay Whisky has a distinct nod to the coast from which it hails, hence its name, think seaweed strewn shores and ocean breezes! Its believed that Irish monks began distilling on the Island back in the 1300s. Many of the distilleries along the coast of Islay have malts with a smoky, seaweedy and salty character, considered a characteristic of Islay malts due to the water from which the whisky is made and to the peating levels of the barley. With 25% of this batch having been finished in first-fill oloroso sherry casks, and bestowed with the decidedly descriptive name Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire. Its stripped-back, smoky, complex, a bit sherried, balanced and like we have said has a distinct nod to the coast. Great for people who love an uncompromising Islay Whisky. Nose: Rich, powerful sherry with a well-integrated core of peat. Solid. Palate: Well-balanced but extremely forceful on delivery. The sherry makes itself known in a really good way. Finish: Red apple sweetness gives way to oaken-vanilla goodness and fades elegantly into the embers of a chargrilled well-aged steak. Overall: A thoroughly impressive dram. One would be forgiven for mistaking it for an OB with another 5 years of age on it. Please note – deliveries outside of the UK, may be subject to additional charges and taxes when the package arrives. Unfortunately, these additional charges are outside of our control and must be borne by the recipient. Storage: Store in a cool dry place. Make sure the bottle is tightly capped to minimise loss of flavour. To experience at its best, we recommend enjoying responsibly soon after opening.
