IDEAL GIFT OR CELEBRATION FIZZ In June 2022 after lots of restoration, The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company re-opened the doors to a 16th century coastal pub and restaurant - The Old Point House in Angle. The pub is full of character and has many stories to tell and one story caught our imagination: In 1917 Joseph Watkins, a local fisherman and Trapper, who became a leading Seaman in WW1, called into The Old Point House for a farewell pint, following shore leave to his home village, Angle. He placed an Irish penny on top of the old fireplace and told the locals and landlord, “If I don’t come back, keep that penny there as a reminder of me”. In October of 1918, Joseph was aboard HMS Champagne, when she was sunk by a German submarine. According to newspaper accounts, he bravely continued manning the ship’s gun, after the order to abandon ship had been given, firing at the submarine until the very end. The Irish penny was fixed to the front of the Old Fireplace in his memory. Sure enough the penny is there! In honour of his memory and to all those who lost their lives during war and at sea, we have worked with our colleagues at Vinotopia to bring you HMS CHAMPAGNE! our very own Point House fizz. Please pop your message in the customer note field. HMS CHAMPAGNE is a crisp, well balanced champagne with citrus hints on the nose overlaid with touches of brioche. The palate is fresh, clean and lively with a creamy mousse and long finish. It is a blend of structure and vivacity, beautiful aromatic complexity, dense and distinguished, with very good persistence. Bright yellow, aromatically intense with mineral notes, yellow fruit and brioche, the palate is dry, firm and zesty, with attractive creaminess and length. The sale of alcohol is strictly for persons over 18 years of age. Please note – deliveries outside of the UK, may be subject to additional charges and taxes when the package arrives. Unfortunately, these additional charges are outside of our control and must be borne by the recipient. Storage: Store in a cool dry place. To experience at its best, we recommend enjoying responsibly soon after opening. Shipping Charges Our current charges for UK shipping are £4.95 with free delivery for any orders £40 and over. These charges may be subject to change but will be clearly displayed at checkout. International Shipping We can ship internationally and if this is of interest - please get in touch with your requirements through either our contact form or by calling us on our contact number between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, so that we can discuss this further with you. Method of Delivery We generally use Royal Mail and DHL/UK Mail couriers to deliver our products but it may be necessary at times to use other companies/methods of delivery. Delivery Time We endeavour to ensure all orders are processed in a timely and prompt manner and shipped as quickly as possible. Due to the current Covid situation, please allow 3-5 working days from the date of order. Please allow additional time for courier services and customs clearance if you are planning to order from outside the UK. Notification of Shipment You should receive notification by SMS/email when your order is processed and shipped. Queries regarding Ordering and Shipping. If your query is of an urgent nature or you are having any issues with processing your order online, then please call our contact number during office hours. If you have a general enquiry, then please use our contact page and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Frozen Products Our Frozen products (Butters, Pesto and Laverbread) are shipped in protective wool cool packaging so that they arrive with you chilled and are "ready to use" . Please ensure that they are kept refrigerated and used within 10 days of opening/receipt. If ordering frozen products, please ensure you are able to receive their delivery as we may not be able to assist with the replacement of goods that have been subject to a failed delivery that is not due to an issue relating to PBFC or our courier/postal service. Express Delivery We can offer an express delivery service which will either be delivered by Royal Mail or Courier within 1- 2 working days. Please select the relevant option at checkout. Please note that it is not always possible to dispatch Frozen products on a Friday using our express delivery service - due to the logistics of products needing to arrive with you chilled, as it is likely they will not arrive until the Monday, given weekend posting/collections. Please note the cut off time each day for booking an express delivery for arrival within 1 -2 working days is 12 pm each day. Orders placed on Fridays or over the weekend may be delivered on either the Monday or the Tuesday of the following week. (Please refer to previous notes regarding Frozen goods and Friday ordering).
